Credit card points are the most flexible thing in your wallet and the easiest to waste. A balance sitting in an account you no longer open is worth nothing until somebody uses it, and the programme has no reason to remind you it is there.

Work out which transfer the deal actually needs
Moving points into another person's account and transferring them to an airline or hotel partner are different operations with different rules. Be clear which one you are agreeing to before anything moves.
Read your programme's current terms
Issuers restrict person-to-person movement heavily, and some do not allow it at all. The terms in your own account are the only version that counts, and they change without notice.
Agree the sequence in writing
Who moves first, what confirms receipt, and what happens if a transfer takes days rather than seconds. Put it in the thread, where there is a record of it.
Worth knowing
Card issuers generally prohibit selling or bartering rewards, and can claw back points or close an account over it. We say that plainly because it is true and because the marketplaces that do not say it are not doing you a favour. Read your own terms and decide for yourself.

How much are credit card points worth?
The honest floor is whatever your own programme pays for a cash-style redemption, which is usually modest and always available. The ceiling is a premium partner award booked at the right moment, which is real but rare. A realistic price sits between the two and depends far more on award availability than on the size of the balance.

Is selling credit card points allowed?
