From browsing to a completed exchange.

The short version is three steps. This is the longer one — what happens at each stage, what we handle, and what stays with you.

Phase 01

Discover what is actually available

Start in the marketplace. Every listing states the program, the amount or benefit, the expiration if there is one, and how the member describes their terms. Nothing is hidden behind an account.

Filter down to what is realistic for the trip you are planning. A balance that cannot transfer to your program, or a certificate that expires before your dates, is not a match no matter how good the rate looks.

  • Search by program, perk type, destination, and availability
  • Check the expiration against your travel dates before anything else
  • Open a listing to read the member's full terms and notes
  • Browsing and filtering are free and need no account

Phase 02

Connect and ask the questions that matter

Creating a free account is what unlocks messaging. That is deliberate: it means the person on the other side of the conversation has an account and a profile you can look at, rather than an anonymous inbox.

Good conversations are specific. Ask which program the points sit in, how the transfer would happen, how long it takes, and what you both do if the transfer fails or arrives short.

  • Create a free account to open a private conversation
  • Ask about program, method, timing, and what happens if it fails
  • Confirm the program's own terms allow what you are planning
  • Keep the conversation on the platform so you have a record

Phase 03

Agree the terms and complete it yourselves

You and the other member settle the terms directly: amount, price or trade, timing, and the order things happen in. BuySellPoints does not set the price, hold funds, or step into the middle.

Because the exchange happens between the two of you, the judgement is yours. Treat pressure to move fast or take the conversation off-platform as a reason to stop and walk away.

  • Compare terms and negotiate directly with the other member
  • Agree the sequence in writing before anything moves
  • Complete the transfer through the loyalty program itself
  • You can walk away at any point, for any reason

The boundary

What we do, and what we do not.

What BuySellPoints does

  • Hosts listings and lets you filter them
  • Gives members a profile so you know who you are talking to
  • Carries your private conversation with the other member
  • Publishes community guidelines and safety guidance

What it does not do

  • Hold funds, process payments, or act as escrow
  • Set or guarantee a price for any listing
  • Broker, execute, or reverse a transfer on your behalf
  • Guarantee that any exchange completes

Staying safe is mostly asking good questions.

Most problems in a peer-to-peer exchange come from an assumption nobody checked. These are the checks worth making every time.

Check the program rules first

Some programs restrict or prohibit transfers between unrelated accounts. What the two of you agree cannot override what the program allows.

Agree the order of events

Decide in writing who moves first, how long each step should take, and what you both do if something arrives late, short, or not at all.

Slow down when pushed

Urgency and requests to move off-platform are the two most common warning signs. Neither is a reason to hurry, and both are a reason to stop.

BuySellPoints facilitates introductions and conversations. Members are responsible for evaluating offers and completing transactions safely.

Transfer guides

Moving points between two people.

Every program handles person-to-person transfers differently. These walk through what each one generally allows and what to confirm before you agree terms.

Ready to look around?

Browsing is free and open. You only need an account when you want to talk to someone.
