Airline miles are committed money. Unlike a bank balance they are worth whatever one airline says they are worth on the day you want to fly, and if there is no award seat they are worth very little at all. That is exactly why a balance you will not use is worth more to somebody with a trip than it is to you.
This is a marketplace between members. Nobody here buys your miles at a quoted rate; you set your own asking price, and the member who wants them talks to you directly about how the transfer would work.

Before you agree anything
Check whether your programme allows member-to-member transfers at all
Some do, with conditions and fees. Some do not. A few allow it only for cardholders of a particular product. This is the question that decides whether a deal is even possible.
Price the fee into what you ask
Where transfers are allowed they often carry a per-thousand charge plus a fixed fee. Whoever pays it, agree that before you agree a number.
Confirm the award before anything moves
Miles are worth what they can book. If the deal depends on a specific seat, confirm the space is there first — transfers are a one-way door.
Worth knowing
Airline programmes generally forbid selling miles and can cancel tickets, void balances or close accounts. Some have pursued sellers directly. We would rather say so than let you find out afterwards.

Which airline programmes allow transfers between members?
It varies, and it changes. Alaska's Atmos Rewards allows peer-to-peer transfers, free for holders of one card product and for a fee otherwise. Others restrict it to household members or do not permit it at all. Check the transfer screen in your own account before agreeing anything.
How much are airline miles worth?
Less than people expect, and entirely dependent on award space. A mile that cannot book the seat somebody wants is worth close to nothing to them. Price against what the miles can actually reserve for the buyer's dates, not against a headline valuation.
Do you take a cut of the sale?

How long does a mileage transfer take?
Some land in seconds, others take days, and a few are held for review. Treat anything other than instant as the normal case when you agree a sequence, and do not assume the miles will be there the same afternoon.
